1. Student-identifying information

  • Full names, photos, addresses, or anything that can personally identify a child.

2. Confidential school records

  • Attendance logs, grade reports, IEPs, health records — anything protected under Provincial laws in Canada.

3. Real student work with names visible

  • Essays, drawings, or assignments with the student’s name or identifiable details still on them.

4. Photos or videos of students

  • Even if taken in a classroom setting, these are protected by school privacy policies, and also require consent by parents/guardians

5. Internal staff or parent communications

  • Emails, text messages, or meeting minutes naming specific people.

6. Proprietary curriculum or licensed materials

7. Sensitive behavioural or disciplinary records

  • Incident reports, counselling notes, or any mention of specific students’ behaviour.

8. Health or safety information about students

  • Specific times and locations of field trips, assemblies, or after-school programs.
