Dovercourt PS, TDSB

February 20, 2014

A very unique experience today.  A grade 5 girl in the front row had tears in her eyes.  I asked her why she was crying (during Q&A).  She responded “I’m not upset. These are tears of joy.. I am happy that I follow rules that keep me safe, and now know why my mom gave me those rules.. Thank You!!!”   When I look back at what made my day great.. she absolutely did.  Thank You to parents, staff and students for allowing me to speak with your community today!

St Robert TCDSB

February 19, 2014

Two great presentations today to the students of St Robert in the TCDSB.  Good Q&A in both sessions.  This evening I spoke with parents (it’s always a good sign, when the school has to bring in more chairs).  The parent response was tremendous.  They stayed well over the 90min, and had lots of great questions.  I appreciate the opportunity to have spoken to your community.

“What can I say…my mind was in a whirlwind after your presentation last night!”, Mom, St Robert

John Ross Robertson TDSB

February 18, 2014

I returned today to speak at John Ross Robertson in the TDSB.  The students were excellent (as they were last year), and the two proudest moments were when two students remembered (in detail) the answers to questions I had asked – from a year ago.  Thank You for inviting me back, and to the parents who attended this evening.

Charles E Webster

February 14, 2014

Valentines Day! And I spent the morning at Charles E Webster speaking to grade 4/5/6 & then 7/8.  Thank You to the principal for inviting me back from two years ago, to speak to a new group of students.  The “buz” after the 7/8 session was endless… question after question.. Love it!

Thornhill Secondary School YRDSB

February 13, 2014

“Hear a Pin Drop” group of Grade 9s today – one full hour, with great Q&A.  The Grade 10s had fewer questions in a public forum, but then asked a lot of one-in-one… yes, they know much – but they learned much more today.  Thank You to parent council for having me speak to your parents this evening – great feedback left by those in attendance.

Bishop Francis Allen

February 12, 2014

Thank You to the Principal of Bishop Francis Allen to invite me to her new school (she asked me to speak at her previous one), to the students and parents. Very good sessions today.  And thanks to a former Peel Region Police officer to help backup my thoughts/directives of online safety..  Always appreciated.

Blessed John Paul II, YCDSB

February 11, 2014

Back in the YCDSB at Blessed John Paul today.  A school I had never visited before, but where the Principal had me at her previous school – and asked me to deliver my message to her new school.  The students were very attentive, and asked great questions.  This evening I met a great group of parents.  Parents filed in, and started filling in the front row.. very keen to learn!  Thank You for all your wonderful feedback this evening, and the request to return to your school!

“That was amazing”, Christine – Parent at BJPII

“OMG! That was excellent.  I am blown away!” – Shelley – Parent at BJPII

Father Henri Nouwen, YCDSB

February 10, 2014

I returned to Father Henri Nouwen today for my second visit in three years.  A great reception from the students.  It was nice to see grade 8 students return this evening with their parents to learn even more.  A special Thank You to the mother who said “I’ve seen you before, and you never disappoint”.  And Thank You for inviting me back next year!

St Elizabeth Seton, Calgary Catholic

February 6, 2014

My last day in Calgary and four presentations at St Elizabeth Seton.  Three to students and one to the parents (thank you to the teachers who returned to hear even more this evening).  A great day overall – with very good questions from all three student groups.  I took notice of how one of the Assistant Principal’s was executing some of the things I was saying live, on his device – and then backing up my statements.  Thank You to the parents and their awesome feedback this evening…  I return in two weeks to your area, and hope to see you at other schools.

St Albert The Great, Calgary Catholic

February 5, 2014

Two wonderful audiences at St Albert the Great today!  Great questions from the student audiences (and their teachers!).  A great story as to how I was invited to St Albert.. an Assistant Principal saw me a her son’s school, and said “We need to have you at our school” – one year later, it happened!  Thank You parents for attending this evening (including parents who are police officers in Calgary), braving minus 25 degree temps.
